Most homes have downspouts that dump water right at the foundation. Maybe there's a splash block, maybe not. Either way, that water soaks into the soil next to your house. Over time, it can cause basement leaks, foundation cracks, and erosion.
A proper gutter drainage system catches that water and pipes it away—to the street, to a dry well, or to a safe discharge point in your yard. It's one of the best investments you can make in protecting your home.
We install underground drainage pipes that connect to your downspouts and carry water away from your foundation. The pipes are buried below the surface, so they're invisible and can't be damaged by lawn equipment.
The most common solution is extending your downspouts underground. We connect solid pipe to the downspout, run it underground with proper slope, and discharge it at a safe distance from your home. Usually 10-15 feet minimum, more if the grade allows.
At the discharge end, we often install pop-up emitters. These open automatically when water flows through, then close to keep debris and critters out. They work well in lawn areas where you want the outlet to be less visible.
Sometimes you need to collect surface water too, not just downspout runoff. We install catch basins and channel drains that connect to the underground system. This handles water from driveways, patios, and low spots in the yard.
When we pour new concrete—driveways, patios, sidewalks—it's the perfect time to install drainage. We can slope the concrete correctly and integrate catch basins right into the surface. Everything works together as a system.
If you're getting concrete work done, ask about drainage. Adding it during construction is much easier than retrofitting later.
Gutter drainage systems need proper slope to work. The pipe has to run downhill consistently from the downspout to the outlet. We calculate the grade, dig the trench to the right depth, and make sure water actually flows where it's supposed to.
